Me in my studio

I try to paint at least a little
every day, if not more.
Here I am carrying a painting
around to see where it will fit.

Thursday's Art Class

Studio Art Class

In the first head drawing, I am using shapes and one value to indicate features and the turning of the form. This is from the Vanderpoel book on page 49, lower right.

The first drawing was to illustrate some aspects of head construction that we talk about in our class. It is an over-stylized representation of a Michelangelo's David using the Loomis method to construct the head, and find the placement of features.

The second and third set of sketches illustrates some quick rotated views of the head using Loomis references.

Cheryl's head drawings after only a few months!

Terry's head study after the 3rd week.
Really great!
